Westside Windows and Doors Review

Initial Promise, Subsequent Disappearance

At the outset, Stephen, supposedly a part owner or manager at Westside, was impressively attentive during the quotation process. It was almost too good to be true. And it was. As soon as we signed off on the work, he mysteriously vanished. It felt as though he had evaporated into thin air, leaving us to grapple with the ensuing chaos.

Delays, Poor Workmanship, and Damage

Our installation turned into an endless saga of delays. It seemed like the project would never reach its conclusion. The craftsmanship was nothing short of abysmal, resulting in extensive damage to our home’s drywall. To add insult to injury, the installers left our house in a perpetually dirty state after each day’s work. To top it off, they consistently disregarded pandemic safety measures, including not wearing masks, even though I am at a high risk of severe illness from COVID-19.

Endless Ordeal and Missing Window Screens

The project dragged on for months beyond the originally anticipated completion date. When it was finally “completed,” we were left far from satisfied. Shockingly, Westside hadn’t even provided all of the window screens that were required. It took us half a year to sell our home, and the buyers insisted on having the missing window screen. My fiancé and I had to launch a relentless pursuit of Westside to secure that elusive final screen.

Shocking Bill a Year Later

Over a year after we believed our dealings with Westside were concluded, Stephen reappeared like a ghost from the past, demanding an additional $1,200.00+ within the next 7 days. His rationale? An alleged accounting error on their part, citing the cost to paint the front door as omitted. Over $1,200.00 to paint the front side of our front door, a year after the installation was supposedly finished? To compound the absurdity, he threatened to escalate the matter to a collection agency without any prior attempts at communication. This behavior is nothing short of outrageous.

Final Verdict

ProsCons
None– Initial promise from management vanished after signing off
– Constant delays in project completion
– Poor workmanship and damage to drywall
– Installers’ disregard for pandemic safety protocols
– Missing window screens, necessitating pursuit
– Unexpected and unjustified billing a year later
– Threats of collection agency for alleged errors
– Overall terrible experience with Westside
– Competitive quote and timeline promises not met

In conclusion, I implore anyone reading this to steer clear of this company at all costs. While their initial quote may appear competitive and their promises of a shorter timeline enticing, the reality is a nightmarish ordeal. In the end, we ended up spending just as much, if not more, endured excruciating delays, received work of appallingly low quality, and suffered through an utterly deplorable experience. Save yourself the agony and explore other options for your home improvement needs. Westside is not just a disappointment; it’s a disaster waiting to happen.

Truly an awful experience. Stephen, who is supposed to be a part owner or manager at Westside was easily available throughout the quotation process but completely disappeared after we signed off on the work. Our installation was continually delayed. Poor workmanship and damage to the drywall throughout the home. Installers left the house dirty after each day and were often unmasked in our house during the height of the pandemic, regardless of the fact that I am at a high risk of serious illness from COVID-19. The work dragged out and was completed months after anticipated. At the end, we were unsatisfied and Westside hadn’t even provided all of the window screens that were required. Half a year later we listed our home and the buyers insisted on having the final missing window screen. My fiancé and I had to hound Westside over and over again to get the final screen. Over a year after we squared up with Westside, Stephen me sends an email demanding an additional $1,200.00+ in the next 7 days or else he would hand us over to a collection agency. His justification is that there was an accounting error on their end and the cost to paint the front door was not included. Over $1,200.00 to paint the front side of our front door? Over a year after the installation was supposed to be completed? Threatening to send us to collections after making ZERO previous attempts at contacting us? What a crock. Do not work with this company. Save yourself the headache. The original quote may seem more competitive, they may give you a more competitive timeline but it’s a farce. In the end we spent just as much, waited even longer, dealt with poorer quality and endured an awful experience.
