Public nomination of businesses will open online September 2012 Public Voting will open online November 2012. Voting will close in February 2013.
The Calgary Choice Awards (CCAs) was created in 2009 with a goal to recognize and celebrate Calgary Businesses and their unbridled entrepreneurial spirit.
The Calgary Choice Awards Gala brings together local businesses, small and large, media and the public to celebrate excellence. The Awards Gala was designed by Calgarians for Calgarians rewarding and recognizing Calgary and surrounding area businesses for distinction in a variety of industries and categories. Winners are nominated and selected by Calgarians in an assortment of categories ranging from Customer Service and Entertainment to Arts and Culture, Best Employer, Best Independently Owned Business to Best New Business.

Calgary Choice Awards Gives Back to Children’s Charitable Initiatives.
Every year, a portion of the proceeds raised from this gala benefit a local children’s charitable initiative with a focus on health and well being or education.

Calgary Choice Awards Gala was held on Friday Sept. 30, 2011 in the Palomino Ballroom at the BMO Centre Stampede Grounds . the 2011 CCAs celebrated some past winners as well as many new ones this year. Over 350 companies were nominated and a staggering 15,665 public votes were registered online (up from 5000 votes the previous year!)
Gala included a start studded photoshoot on the red carpet, live music, canapés and a Death by Chocolate. Leslie Stein and Kevin Becker from Up! 97.7 FM were the celebrity emcees for the evening. Each winner was presented with a “gold star” trophy, in each of the 20 categories at the Gala. Media, local celebrities and guests walked the red carpet and mixed and mingled, and celebrated in the festivities.
2010 Calgary Choice Awards
The event was a sellout success with over 400 guests in attendance. The gala was emceed by Calgary’s own radio personality Phoenix from 97.7 Calgary FM and hosted at Flames Central. Over 400 companies were nominated and more than 5000 Calgarians cast their vote, the competition was fierce. A number of Calgary organizations came away as winners including Bass Pro Shops, The Fairmont Palliser, Peter’s Drive Inn, The Calgary Zoo, Blink Eyewear and WestJet Airlines.
2009 Calgary Choice Awards (formerly Calgary Oscars)
Celebrated the best in Calgary with 350 guests in attendance. The gala was hosted at the Big Four Building at the Calgary Stampede Grounds by Calgary’s own media celebrity Phoenix from 97.7 Calgary FM. Over 2,500 votes cast for 150 nominated companies. The media was in full force in 2009 and 2010 with coverage received from Shaw TV, the Calgary Sun, Global TV, Mix 97.7 FM, BizBoxTV, City TV and Metro News. Some of the local celebrities in attendance included from the 2009 and 2010 Calgary Choice Awards event included Phoenix from Mix 97.7FM, Erin Strate, host from Shaw TV, Judy Gabriel from City TV’s , Global TV’s Leslie Horton, Calgary Sun’s Bill Brooks, dancers from Alberta Ballet and more
